Piebald Deer

Here are some great photos from an email I received from Kari Murray of I don't Wear Pink Camo to the Woods of a Piebald Deer. The email said the Buck was taken in Wisconsin and Cabella's offered the hunter 13K for it. After checking out snopes it turns out the piebald deer was actually shot in Texas and no one was offered any money for the buck. I hope you enjoy.

I would be proud of this even if it wasn't a piebald deer.

I could see someone mistaking this piebald deer for a cow or a horse

How cool would it be to have a trophy like this hanging on the wall
Basiclly all that makes a deer piebald is a genetic variation. Have you ever seen a Piebald deer? Let us know.

  2. Ben, I have never seem a deer of this type. Thanks for sharing. I could see where it could be mistaken for a cow if it wasn't for the rack. Kari, thanks go to you too, my friend.

  5. THANK YOU FOR THIS PICTURE!!
A week ago, DU had two of his friends over from outside Raleigh. They kept talking about a pie ball deer. Pie ball? Like eating pie while standing on a ball?

  6. In this neck of the woods we call them calicos. They are not nearly as common as they were twenty years ago. Most of the calicos we see are of very poor genetics. They are usually very short bodied deer with abnormally large legs. I've never killed one myself, my father killed a calico cowhorn buck some 45 years ago. We got pictures of a calico doe on a trailcam this past season, but we never saw her while hunting. I've only seen one calico with a descent rack, never anything like this, this is a nice buck! A one in a million trophy for sure.
