Right Whale

This story comes to us form Albert at the The Rasch Outdoor Chronicles. Thanks a ton Albert we appreciate your kindness.

Have you ever heard of a Right Whale? I know I haven't until I was sent this article. Right Whales are an endangered species of whale that migrate from their summer feeding grounds near Nova Scotia to The Florida area in the winter.

Rescuers try and reach the whale

This unlucky Juvenal Right Whale had been tangled in a fishing rope and was recently freed from the rope after two attempts. (here is the full story Whale freed in rare at-sea sedation ) In the first attempt they were able to remove some of the rope. For the second attempt they had to sedate the Right Whale. From what I can find on the web this is only the second they have sedated a whale in the open sea.

  2. I do believe that they gained their name as they were the 'right' whale to hunt years ago, though this did almost lead to their extinction.
