Black whitetails are very rare, they don't even occur in nature as often as piebald or albino deer. They are actually called Melanistic deer. They become black because their body produces way too much pigment called melanin. Most folks don't even know that black whitetails exist. I guess you know now.

Have you ever seen a black whitetail deer before? I know I haven't. I've heard that there is a couple counties in Texas that have quite a few of them. Hmm?

I know it blew my mind when I saw it for the first time. I totaly thought someone photoshopped it.
ReplyDeleteI live in Mississippi and My Cousin has seen a black whitetail near my house. He's trying to capture a picture of it, Hopefully we will.
