A photographer in Arizona captured some amazing photos of a Bobcat who had climbed up and perched himself on a Saguaro Cactus. The bobcat was being stalked by a Mountain lion and found safety on the cactus for a couple of hours.

For some reason I don't think this would be a very comfortable place to take a nap or even climb for that matter. I guess if it's a matter of life or death I would choose short term pain. Here is a link to the full story with a video Bobcat Perches Atop Saguaro Cactus.
Do you think the bobcat is in any pain or are bobcats in the south equipped with some sort of extra padding for these types of climbs? Let me know if you know.

ReplyDeleteBobcats will readily flee up a saguaro from predators, such as mountain lions and those ornery javelinas.
I wouldn't think that would be very comfortable. Maybe their weight disperses across their pads enough that it won't puncture them? kind of like those guys that lay on the bed of nails :)
I want to live on top of a cati. It would be fun. Except for that whole getting down part.
