Trukey crashes through car windsheild

This one happened right here in Minnesota. This guy was driving to work in the morning on interstate 494 and before he knew what had happened a turkey was in his front seat.

Ouch that looks like it hurt a bit.

About ten years ago you had to really look for wild turkey here in Minnesota. Occasionally I would see one deer hunting, but now it's odd when you don't see one.

Virginia record Blue Catfish

This huge catfish was caught in Buggs Island Lake near the union of the Dan and Roanoke rivers. It weighed in at 109 pounds 53 inches long and a girth of 41 inches. The previous state record blue catfish was caught in the tidal James River. Which is no small fish either.

Longest living Mammal

The longest living mammal on earth is the Bowhead Whale which resides mostly in the Arctic oceans. It grows to be about 60 ft long an weighs in at around 150 tons. (that's huge) They have been seen breaking through ice as thick as 24 inches to breath. If you have ever been on ice that thick you will know why that is so amazing.

Once thought to live 60 to 70 years like other whales recent discoveries of bowhead whales with harpoons embedded in their blubber dates some of these whales back to the 1800's the last of which was harvested by the Inuits in 2007. They found an explosive harpoon embedded in the whales neck which dated back to the 1890's. Some of the Bowhead whales are believed to live to be 150 to 200 years old.

Crazy maybe it's because they live in the cold arctic waters which slows their metabolism down. (just a guess) What do you think?

Brown Bear chase

Be careful when you are working with wild animals. This is advise I would give anyone even trained professionals. So from what I understand these pictures were taken in Poland? The two men in the photos are Conservation officers who tranquilized a brown bear (not sure why), but the female brown bear woke up as the officers were approaching her.(maybe they grabbed the darts for a wolf instead of a bear). Enjoy the photos.

Well in the end I believe they were able to get another dart in her and both men escaped unharmed. Were these two guys ever lucky.

Be careful What Ammo you buy

This email was sent to me by a friend and although the images aren't form the outdoors I wanted to share them any way. The email says Be careful what ammo you by. Apparently a guy was at the shooting range all ready to shoot his S&W 629 (.44 Mag) with some new ammo when he pulled the trigger this is what happened.

The story also says the ammo originated in China. The man who fired the gun said there was a loud bang when he tested his new ammo, and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash. Lucky for him that was all that had happened.

Something is leading me to believe the story behind this is fake but I don't know for sure. What do you think?

Safe atop a cactus

A photographer in Arizona captured some amazing photos of a Bobcat who had climbed up and perched himself on a Saguaro Cactus. The bobcat was being stalked by a Mountain lion and found safety on the cactus for a couple of hours.

Osprey

This Osprey had an unfortunate situation. He some how ended up stuck in power lines and couldn't free himself. Apparently the osprey got his feet tangled in a fishing lure and the fishing lure got hung up on the power lines. A lineman rescued the bird using a net and then untangling it's feet from the lure. Check out the photos below.

Strange Fish Caught In Panama

Check out this strange fish caught in Panama. It has a nose, teeth and legs instead of fins.

Looks kind of scary to me.

Albino Fish

On October 6th 2010 A man caught an 51-inch Albino Muskie on the lower Flambeau River in Rusk County Wisconsin. I didn't even know albino fish existed until I heard this story. Here are a couple of photos of this rare catch.

I am amazed a fish that color can grow that big. It just seems like it would be difficult to stalk prey when you don't blend in.

Catch and release now you have a chance to catch it.

I would love to catch any muskie how about you? Have you ever heard of any albion fish?

What would you do if you were walking along the beach and found one of these crazy creatures? If I didn't now know what it was I would probably stay as far away as I possibly could. Then my curiosity would probably get the best of me and I would have to go check it out.

Minnesota Moose Population Declining

I think I found the reason why the moose population in Minnesota is declining. You see the male moose isn't a very bright animal and he seems to have it all wrong.

As a fellow Minnesotan I urge all others living in Minnesota to please take down all of you Buffalo statues and any other statues resembling wild animals. Not only will doing so keep Moose out of your yard or city it will also help our dwindling Moose population thrive once again.

Scary Find

I don't know what the heck this is supposed to be, it is some scary looking half human half cow. Apparently some scientists in Russia genetically engineered the scary find. It just makes me sick what people think they can do with mother nature.

Be warned that the photo below is very scary looking and may change the way you look at life forever. Here is the even scarier part they made two of these and they were able to produce offspring. My life will never be the same.

This makes me just sick!

Crazy Coyote

Here are a couple of images I got in an email a long time ago well maybe a few years ago. Check out this coyote that was shot by a hunter. It almost looks as if he gnawed off his leg to get out of a trap and then just used the protruding bone as a foot. This is one crazy Coyote.

Woodchuck chuck wood

Woodchucks don't really chuck wood, (I guess they do in that one TV commercial) maybe that's why they also have the name ground hog. What ever you like to call them it doesn't matter. Did you know that woodchucks can climb trees? I was amazed to find this out. I guess it's not that odd if it is something an animal is supposed to do but I can't help but think it's strange.

As I did more research I found out that woodchucks can also swim. They are also most closely related to squirrels so I guess that is why they can climb trees. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this little fact.

Hungry Eagle

This is something you definitely don't see every day an Eagle attacking a swan. Not sure why an Eagle would try and take out a swan maybe because he's hungry or it is a territory thing. Either way check out these amazing photos I received in an email a while back.

My guess it was a hungry Eagle and animals will do strange things when they are hungry like go after a slow flying Swan that is bigger than them. Lucky for this swan he was a bit too big for the Eagle to handle.

Raise The Bridge

Hello again Everyone. I'm back with something a bit new. In the past most of our stuff has been centred around animals in the outdoors. this post has nothing to do about animals, but it is still an outdoor Abnormality. I received this email form my Dad and after I read the story I had to read it again and look at the pictures all over even more closely.

What you see is a normal day on the river for this barge and tow boat. What you don't see is how high the river is and how fast it's moving.

I said raise the Bridge and um why are these people still on the bridge?

Crap it's too lat we hit the bridge why didn't you raise the bridge

Um the water is going to fast and the tow boat still wants to go under the bridge

Hey the boat is up righting it's self

Look at all the water pouring out

Even more water pours out

She's almost up right I'm still wondering why the didn't raise the bridge

Now the question is how do we stop her from floating down the river?

I know how we'll just start up the engines and do it our self. Notice the smoke and the prop wash.

Just another day on the river. Oh by the way did the company who built the boat get some sort of government contract. If they didn't they sure should have that boat is one well built boat.

I wish I knew what river this happened on and how the captain handled the whole ordeal but for now it's just a mystery. I do know that this must have happened before digital cameras or I guess the people in the photos could have been stuck back in the 80's or maybe even the 70's I guess we will never know.

Hunting Accident

*Attention Pictures bleow are nasty if you have a weak stomach do not look at them*

These pictures have been floating around for some time now and this is defiently something you don't see everyday. After quite a bit of research I found this story and my belief is that it is the correct story. I did edit it to leave names out.

Two brothers were hunting deer at about 5:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. Police treated the incident as accidental. This guy (in the photos) bumped his brother, who had drawn his arrow back and was preparing to release it. The bump caused the brother with the bow to swivel as he was shooting, and the arrow hit dude in the back of his head. Luckly the brothers were standing close together or this accident would have ended much differently.

The arrow wasn't able to gain the momentum that it would, had it actually been released. Dude remained conscious and walked from the woods with his brother, who was shaken by the incident. Surgeons spent three hours removing the arrow.

Just remember to stay safe out there everyone you never know what can happen in the woods.

Mountain Lions

I saw this one and just had to share the photo with everyone. It's not abnormal to catch a mountain lion on a trail cam but how about a group of eight mountain lions. Crazy scary and Abnormal as all get up. Let's just say I'm glad I didn't catch all of these mountain lions on my trail cam or I might be looking for a new place to hunt.

Male Deer

Who needs a dog when you have one of these male deer at your door? I don't think to many people would want to try and get through your front door if this guy stood up and put his head down. I received this one in an email a while a go and thought you would all like to see it.

World Record Alligator Gar

On February 16th 2011 a man in Vicksburg Mississippi caught the world record alligator gar from Chotard Lake weighing in at 327 pounds and a length of 8 feet 5 and 1/4 inches and 47.95 inches around the body. To say the least this alligator gar is a monster.

Piebald Deer

Here are some great photos from an email I received from Kari Murray of I don't Wear Pink Camo to the Woods of a Piebald Deer. The email said the Buck was taken in Wisconsin and Cabella's offered the hunter 13K for it. After checking out snopes it turns out the piebald deer was actually shot in Texas and no one was offered any money for the buck. I hope you enjoy.

I would be proud of this even if it wasn't a piebald deer.

Giant Hornet

Oh me Oh my this thing is scary. I'm not sure I would want to disrupt this giant hornet from Japan. A giant hornet can grow to be the size of your thumb and is rather scary looking if you ask me. It looks like a bee on steroids.

After doing some research I found that a giant hornet eats mostly crop killing insects. In other words they are good. To get the insects back to the hive it dismembers them.

It will sting but only if it feels threatened. I would just say stay out of it's way and you will be fine. Oh if you do happen to get stung by one of these giant hornet you kind of need to go to the hospital. But don't worry only about 40 people die a year form giant hornet sting.

In Alaska Moose may not be viewed from an airplane.
It is also considered an offense to push a live moose out of a moving airplane.

The Arkansas River can rise no higher than to the Main Street bridge in Little Rock.

In California it is illegal to set a mouse trap without a hunting license.

Los Angeles law forbids hunting moths under a street light.

Hartford, CT., makes it illegal to educate dogs.

In Florida having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal.

In Idaho you may not fish on a camel’s back.

In Pocatello, Idaho, a law passed in 1912 provided that "The carrying of concealed weapons is forbidden, unless same are exhibited to public view."

In Normal, IL., it is against the law to make faces at dogs.

No one may catch fish with his bare hands in Kansas.

In Kansas, it is illegal to eat snakes on Sunday.

Children can buy shotguns in Kansas City, Missouri... but not toy cap guns

In Montana, it is illegal for married women to go fishing alone on Sundays, and illegal for unmarried women to fish alone at all.

In Nebraska it is Illegal to go whale fishing.

In New Jersey it is against the law for a man to knit during the fishing season.

In ND, it is still legal to shoot Indians if your in a covered wagon.

In Ohio it is illegal to get a fish drunk.
In Cleveland, it is illegal to catch mice without a hunting license.

It is contrary to Pennsylvania law to discharge a gun, cannon, revolver or other explosive weapon at a wedding. Also you may not catch a fish by any body part except the mouth.

In Tennessee, it is illegal to shoot any game other than whales from a moving automobile.

In Tennessee it is illegal to use Lassos to catch a fish and skunks may not be carried into the state.

In Texas it is illegal for one to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel.

It is against the law to fish from horseback in Utah.

It's illegal in Wilbur, Washington, to ride an ugly horse.

In Wyoming you may not take a picture of a rabbit from January to April without an official permit.

Hunting Hunters

This elk got way to close for comfort. I can't believe the hunter stayed so still. I'm not sure if I could have done that. If the elk would have moved his head in any other direction we could have said he was out hunting hunters.

I've heard of Mountain Lions and Bears hunting hunters before, but never an elk. Well I guess some people have been gored by deer so why not elk.

Elk Bar

Apparently the elk in the first image below was mad at the bar owner because the name of the bar was the Deer Bar she thought it should be called the Elk Bar. So she took the bar stool with her in protest. These are some funny pictures of elk and bar stool and an elk with a plastic chair.

I would have never though you would see a cow elk in this scenario, but I guess it has happened more than once. My guess is it would have been a bull, but then again how would a chair get around a bull elks neck with antlers in the way.

Biggest Grizzly Bears

One or the Biggest Grizzly Bears I've ever seen. Here is an email I received from my Dad. Not sure if the story is correct or the bear is really that big? Isn't it more fun when you have to guess?

Any way here is how the story reads in the email.

Big Bear shot Saddle Hills Alberta, Sept 20, 2010

These two gents were calling elk in the Saddle Hills south of Working, Alberta when this big
guy slipped in on the caller. The Shooter spotted the bear about 8 yards from the caller and
dropped him with 5 shots out of his 338 Rem Mag.

Farmers in the area knew about the bear but weren't able to track after it had killed 3 horses,
5 cows, 13 sheep and a pen full of chickens on several different homesteads in the area.

Fish and wildlife had bear traps set up in the area but noticed on surveillance video that whenever
he would enter one his hump would hit the top of the culvert trap slowing him enough that the trap
door would whack him on the head before he was all the way in the reap.

Check out the scar tissue on his face... Bear weighed in just under 1300 pounds and would have

stood 11 ¾ feet tall on its hind legs...

The Bison vs The Elk

This is something you don't see every day The Bison vs The Elk. Not to sure why the two are in the same area, but both seem to be rather determined to claim the spot as their own.

My first thought was man the bison is going to get rocked by the elk. I guess being a beefier animal the bison could throw his weight into the fight. However the elk was not going to give up. I wish the video could have been a bit longer so we could see what happened in the end.

Is it just me or does the woman's voice in the video sound familiar?

Minks

This one was sent to us by Mike at The Sharpened Axe It's a great little story. Apparently a couple of Minks made their way into The Junction Store in Brownville, Maine. The first of the Minks was caught in the minnow tank killing minnows and stock piling them. The second of the Minks was caught in a live trap. They had noticed the dead fish from the night before were all piled up by the door, so they set up a live trap.

I've heard of mice and rats in stores and houses, but Minks that's a new one for me. Have you ever heard of anything like this? How do you suppose these guys discovered all of the minnows?

Snapping Turtle

This is a snapping turtle alright, but he is rather deformed. Check out what a combination of man and nature can do to reptiles. It seems as though when this snapping turtle was much smaller he/she some how got stuck in a plastic ring. I'm not to sure what the ring is from, maybe a milk carton?

It's too bad this snapping turtle had to find someones garbage and live a life like this.

I've searched high and low for some concrete evidence as to what really happened here. Like was this ring intentionally put on the turtle? Can the turtle function? What is the ring exactly, plastic, metal, rubber? Where is it from? I did find some stories, but none are very informative or they were on forms.

I received this one in an email a year or two a go and just had to share it. A bull moose isn't an animal I would want to mess with. Watch how lucky this bow hunter is.

So, when you shoot a deer, elk, or just about any other animal what do they do? They run away from the pain. Not a bull moose he puts his head down and charges the first thing he sees. All moose are dangerous so keep your distance. (If this would have been me I think I would have had to change my drawers.)

For those of you who haven't had the chance to see a moose in person I suggest trying your best to check them out even if it is just at a zoo.They are odd and magnificent animals especially the huge bull moose.

Black Wolf

Back in 2006 and early 2007 in Northern Minnesota a Black Wolf was spotted several times chasing cars. It is common for dogs to chase cars, but a wolf?

That is definitely a black wolf

Can you imagine driving down the road when seemingly out of no where a large black wolf came flying out of his ambush site. It baffles me why would he do such a thing?

With this black wolf's strange behavior people were skeptical and didn't think it was actually a wolf. A former DNR conservation officer identified this animal as none other than a timber wolf (gray wolf). Here is an article about the wolf. Black Wolf Chasing Cars.

Right Whale

Have you ever heard of a Right Whale? I know I haven't until I was sent this article. Right Whales are an endangered species of whale that migrate from their summer feeding grounds near Nova Scotia to The Florida area in the winter.

This unlucky Juvenal Right Whale had been tangled in a fishing rope and was recently freed from the rope after two attempts. (here is the full story Whale freed in rare at-sea sedation ) In the first attempt they were able to remove some of the rope. For the second attempt they had to sedate the Right Whale. From what I can find on the web this is only the second they have sedated a whale in the open sea.

Not this guy. Here is a video I received from one of my coworkers not sure of the origins, but this is crazy who in their right mind would do this? If any of you follow I don't Wear Pink Camo to the Woods you've all ready seen this because Kari posted it a little while ago.

My guess is this guy isn't a deerhunter and/or doen't know too much about deer. Did you see how close those antlers came to his face? I got scared just watching it.

Do you think this video is real ? Sometimes the deer looks almost robotic to me and he seems rather short for a buck with antlers that size. Any way I hope you enjoyed the video.

Oh by the way the guy who sent this to me is a deerhunter.

Here is yet another great one form LB at Bullets and Biscuits. I'm really don't know too much about hog hunting and I'm not sure if this is a sow or a boar pigs. I do know boar pigs can have tusks but thats my extent of knoweldge.

This is just crazy I can't belive 1 this guy didn't get hurt more than he did. 2 That he actually had the time to shoot the pig.

Do you have any experance hunting boar pigs? Has something like this ever happend to you? Let us know.

Fly Fishing Surprise

Albino Moose

Not exactly. While the moose in the photos below appear to be albino moose they actually aren't. Through some research I found out they are likely white colored or white haired moose. It is an abnormal genetic variation of the species. These white colored moose can actually vary from all white to brown with white spots. My guess is similar to a piebald deer? Any way here are a bunch of photos.

Although true albino moose do exist it is even more rare than white colored moose. Around 1 in 100,000 are true Albino Moose. Some hunters in Vermont found out just how rare their Albino Moose was. Click here

Prairie Chicken

I ran across this video on Kimberly's blog Last I checked... A naturalist's rantings... Ok the video shows male Prairie Chickens fighing which isn't too strange. But you have to make sure you have your volume on for this one. I've never had the chance to hear a prairie chicken untill now and I swore Kimberly was in a different country and got the birds name wrong.

Midwest Whitetail

These two Midwest whitetail deer are locked in battle on the ice. I believe they are in Iowa. If this group of bird hunters hadn't come along my guess is that both deer would have died. If you haven't seen this already check it out and see how they separate the two Midwest whitetail deer.

Black Bear

First of all I want to thank someone for these pictures but I don't know who to thank. I found these photos in my Ben G. Outdoors folder and thought they were rather abnormal. So if you are the person who sent them to me please let me know so I can give you credit for these great pictures.

Here is how I imagine these pictures coming about.

Your on your way out to your tree stand early in the morning. When you get half way to your stand you realized you forgot your bullets and have to go back to your truck to get them. Now ready to hunt you arrive at your tree stand only to find because you were late someone else has crawled up in your stand. Oh wait it not a human it's a black bear.

What is that?

I guess on the other hand you could have been walking out in the dark climbed all the way up you tree and then realized when you were about to step on your tree stand that there was a black bear growling at you. Then he swipes at you and you fall to the ground. Just saying... be careful out there.

Black Deer

Here is a good one for everyone have you ever seen a Black Whitetailed deer?

Black whitetails are very rare, they don't even occur in nature as often as piebald or albino deer. They are actually called Melanistic deer. They become black because their body produces way too much pigment called melanin. Most folks don't even know that black whitetails exist. I guess you know now.

Six Legged

It's crazy what nature can do.

This six legged little fawn was found after he was attacked by two dogs in Everett Springs, Georgia. (USA). He has two distinct pelvises and uses a leg from each to walk. He did have two tails but one had to be amputated after the attack.

This six legged deer fawn is now recovering in the West Rome Animal Clinic in Rome, GA

Coyote

Yet anther great story from LB at the newly renamed Bullets and Biscuts blog.

Meet the wiliest of all coyotes: Hit by a car at 75mph, embedded in the fender, on the road for 600 miles - and SURVIVED!

When a brother and sister struck a coyote at 75mph they assumed they had killed the animal and drove on.
They didn't realize this was the toughest creature ever to survive a hit-and-run.

Eight hours, two fuel stops, and 600 miles later they found the wild animal embedded in their front fender - and very much alive.

They were driving at night along Interstate 80 near the Nevada-Utah border when they noticed a pack of coyotes near the roadside on October 12.When one of the animals ran in front of the car, the impact sounded fatal so the siblings thought there no point in stopping.

'Right off the bat, we knew it was bad. 'We thought the story was over.'
After the incident around 1am, they continued their 600 mile drive to North San Juan - even stopping for fuel at least twice.

But it was only when they finally reached their destination at 9am did they take time to examine what damage they may have sustained. At first it looked as though it was going to be quite gruesome. They saw fur and the body inside the grill. The brother was trying to keep some distance. Our assumption was it was part of the coyote - it didn't register it was the whole animal.

They got a broom to try and pry the remains out of the bumper and got the shock of his life.
'It flinched,' 'It was a huge surprise - he got a little freaked out.'

'We knew it was bad'

Fur Pete's sake: the body of the coyote poking out through the radiator

Wily coyote: The animal's head can be seen as rescuers took apart the front fender to save it after it was struck by the car at 75mph

Miracle escape: As the animal struggled, wildlife protection officials put a loop around its neck to prevent it from further injuring itself The front of the car is completely taken apart as the coyote begins to wriggle free

And voila! Tricky the toughest or luckiest coyote ever rests in a cage after its ordeal - which it survived with just some scrapes to its paw.

Bigfoot Sighting

Shane from Blazer Shane's Blog My fishing adventures sent us this one. Here is what he had to say.

"Here in southern Oregon in the 70's people thought Bigfoot was real and decided to build a trap for him. Now, the the trap is still there and a dam and road were built not far from there. So back in march before i went fishing one day at Applegate reservoir I went on a short hike to see the Bigfoot trap. Its out of service now, i guess they used to put dead deer and stuff to try to lure Bigfoot in."

Here is some more info on the Bigfoot Trap.

The trap was built by the Eugene-based North American Wildlife Research Team with a special use permit. The group was attracted to the area after a miner named Perry Lovell found 18-inch human-like tracks in his garden near the Applegate River. The creature reportedly had a 6-foot stride.

They bolted the Bigfoot trap open in 1980 because they thought it was a safety concern to hikers in the area.

If you ever want to go visit the Bigfoot trap here is where it's located.

The Bigfoot trap is about 26 miles south of Medford Oregon. To reach it, take Highway 238 west to Ruch, then turn left on the Applegate Road to the Applegate Dam. Drive past the dam and the Hart-Tish Park entrance. Stop several hundred feet past the park at the Collings Mountain Trailhead on the right. It's marked by a sign, with a footprint insignia on it. After hiking about half a mile you will come to a fork in the trail at a dilapidated old shelter. The trap is about 200 feet up the trail on the left.

My Guess is that you won't have a Bigfoot sighting but who know you may see Bigfoot. Either way this would be cool to see in person.

Chupacabras

Are Chupacabras real? Not sure, but these photos and videos make a pretty strong case for them being real. I guess they could just be raccoons, and coyotes with out hair. But who knows, not me?

The pictures and first video are of a supposed Chupacabra shot in Kentucky.

Whatever it is it looks scary

Car Hit Deer?

So maybe this car didn't hit the deer but rather the deer jumped on this SUV from above. This happened in Minnesota in 2002 near Wayzata (Pronounced Y zet a). (You know I may have lived in Wayzata at the time humm).

So apparently this fellow was minding his own business driving down the freeway when unknown to him another car had spooked a buck on the overpass above him. The deer then jumped over the guard rail and landed on his back right on top of the SUV. The deer must have then slid forward and into the windshield when the drive hit the breaks.

Puffer Fish Kills Larger fish

This one was sent to me By JM over at Something's Fishy Thanks JM.

Warning: The pictures below are kind of gross.

Imagine you are a fish looking for some food when you spot a much smaller fish. Hmm he looks tasty you say to yourself well think again.

When you try and eat the much smaller Puffer fish he puffs out lodging is spines into your mouth ouch! After the shock of the spines piercing your mouth you realize you can't get him out of your mouth no matter how hard you try. On top of all that his poison secretes into you body killing you almost immediately.

I guess this wasn't such a tasty little treat after all. Here are the pictures of the aftermath that washed up on a beach somewhere.

Did you know that a Puffer fish has enough poision in it to kill not one, but three average sized humans. Oh by the way there is no antdote for there poision. My suggestion stay away from any Puffer fish you see.

New Record Archery Buck in Mississippi

Will Rives arrowed this big boy on December 14 in Jefferson County. It was scored by state officals at a gross of 198 4/8 Pope & Young, with a net of 176 inches. WOW, He blew away the old record of 167 2/8-inch arrowed in 2007. How often do you see a record shattered by that much wow!

It's Brown, but if it's not a deer What is it?

Al Cambronne over at Love, Obsession, and Consequences on a Changing American Landscape sent me the following idea with permission to use his pictures. I couldn't pass this one up. Here is the brief of Al's post with my own twist.

Al was seeing a ton of deer tracks on his driveway and some were rather large. So like any outdoors man Al wanted to know what was making the large tracks in his driveway. He borrowed his neighbors trail cam set it up. As you can see in the first three pics they are all deer. But the last one threw Al and myself for a loop.

After much deliberation Al figured out what this final photo was. It was the UPS guy running down his driveway to deliver some Christmas packages.

Al is from Wisconsin and I know things are a bit different in Cheese Land. This pictures confirms my suspicion that all UPS drivers/runners travel the Deer trails in Wisconsin. Not sure how but this confirms it. For Al's complete post follow this link They Only Come Out at Night (Except for UPS).

World Record Elk Minnesota?

My Brother Ryan sent me a link to an article regarding this sweet story. If you get a chance check out his blog ArborView.

Ok so it's not the #1 Elk in the world, but it could place as high as #5. Why is this so Abnormal you ask? Well have you even heard of an elk of any record coming from Minnesota? Yeah I didn't think so. Beside that fact there aren't even very many elk in the state.

Here is a great set of photos sent to us by LB over at Broken Wooden Spoon The e-mail was titled
Contender for the Toughest Buck Award.... but I deem him Super Deer.

Here is what the email LB received said.

"This deer had some very uncomfortable days until he was harvested by this hunter. It is obvious that there was a fight during the rut and this deer ended up with an extra antler (embedded below the eye). You can see that the antler from the attacking deer was broke off below the base of the antler as there is still blood on the base of the antler. That takes a tremendous amount of pressure. Pretty amazing."

Crazy just crazy if this deer can withstand all that pain it has to be a Super Deer. Oh and we think it may have been a bit easier for the hunter to harvest this buck because I'm guessing he couldn't see very well out of his right eye. But we could be wrong.

Ok I know there has been some debate about this picture with the mountian lion in the background across the web, but man if it is real how scary. So this is how the story goes.

This guy was out hunting and after he shot his elk he set his camera on self timer and took a pic.

He about died when he got home and took a look........

Barracuda Fish Bite

Here are some photos we received in an e-mail of a nasty Barracuda Bite. Fishing can be dangerous.

You may be thinking that any man would look proud after catching a large barracuda as he poses with the fish and his 14 year-old daughter at the marina afterwards.

Then you may wonder why his daughter looks less than thrilled.

14 year old Coral was sitting in a boat while her father fished. Suddenly she saw a silver flash in the air.

The barracuda had thrown the hook and grabbed her arm!! The father managed to kill the fish with a knife to the head. But Coral, needed 51 stitches. And dear old dad felt the need to pose for photos before taking her to hospital!

Ouch!

I think his wife will be a bit mad at him when he gets home.
